MEDICAL EMERGENCY TOTAL HIP REPLACEMENT
Donation protected

Hi my name is Wade and I am fundrasing for Mal & Eunice Joe who are in Port Moresby Papua New Guinea.
I am fundraising for this beautiful family because they are stuggling to save money for an expensive surgery that isn't available in PNG and they will need to travel to either Australia or the Philipines to receive the neccessary treatment and surgery plus travel cost and accommodation.
Mal needs a full hip replacement after 3 long years of suffering horrific pain and being misdiagnosed by their local hospital.
the story begins back in June 2020 after a mishap at work Mal had a sharp pain in his hip joint, after it not getting better and unbearable pain Mal visited the local medical clinic.
He was prescribed pain killers but they didn't help the problem. From here on his hospital visits became more frequent as he struggled with severe pain.
Mal became bed ridden for 6 weeks until he was finally admitted to a private hospital.
He was sent home in a wheel chair still suffering in pain and lack of sleep due to the amount of pain.
on one of the many trips to hospital via ambulance a doctor on call suggested Mal see a bone specialist at Port Moresby general hospital. After a minor operation Mal was sent home again in a wheel chair with fortnitely appointments up until Januaray 2021.
The doctor asked for another x-ray and it was revealed that Mals hip bone was gone!!! infection had eaten away the bone!!!
After surgery to clean out the affected area it was evident Mal would need a full Hip replacement, something that is not available in PNG.
After a referral letter was issued by the Port Moresby hospital Mal & Eunice consulted with overseas doctors who were very helpful but the cost was out of reach ( $150,000.00)
They are still struggling to try and save the needed funds for the operation and travel costs.
Before all of this happened Mal run his own Lucas Timber mill cutting timber to supply local business's with building timber and pallets made to order.
Unable to work himself he currently has a few men working the mill and supplying timber but with the challengers Mal is facing he is not sure how much longer he can keep going.
Mal & Eunice thank you in advance for any support via donations.
They thank God for family and friends who are praying and supporting them through this difficult time
