Helping Amber Get Back on Her Feet
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to our friends, family, and community with a heavy heart but a lot of hope. Last week, my daughter Amber experienced every person's worst nightmare. She woke up and realized she was paralyzed from the neck down. We had t to have her 16yrs son carry her to the car and we rushed her to the emergency room, where doctors discovered she was suffering from severe spinal stenosis. The situation was critical, and she was taken into emergency surgery the very next morning to decompress her spine and prevnent permanent damage. She has no use of her hands or legs so she has to depend on us her parents and her 16 year old son to literally do everything for her and help with everything. Including her 16-year-old carrying her to the bathroom it's too hard on him. Anything would help that includes prayers all the prayers would mean the world!
The Good News:
The surgery went well! Amber is a fighter, and we are so grateful to the surgeons who acted so quickly. She has been sent home to begin the long road to recovery.
The Challenge:
While we are thrilled to have her home, she has been discharged without the essential medical equipment she needs to navigate daily life safely. Despite the urgency of her condition, insurance has informed us they will not cover several vital items—including a bedside commode and other specialized mobility aids—that are necessary for her to recover with dignity and safety.
How You Can Help:
- We are setting up this fund to help cover the costs of the equipment and home care supplies that insurance won't provide. This is obviously putting her out of work as well so it will go towards bills that can't be put off till later date Our dimmediate goal is to get her:
* Can't get her into our car so we have to pay for rental car that is smaller than our vehicle or ride shares a lot of doctor appointments physical therapy etc coming up within the months ahead 4
* A medical-grade bedside commode
* Mobility assistance tools
* Necessary home modifications for accessibility
Any amount you can donate—no matter how small—will go directly toward Amber’s medical equipment and recovery needs. If you aren’t able to donate, please consider sharing this page with others.
Thank you for your prayers, your kind words, and your support during this incredibly difficult time. We are staying positive and focusing on getting Amber back on her feet.
With love and gratitude,
Robin
