Help Rodney Keep His New Home and Stay Healthy with support for utilities and household essentials.
Hello, I’m Rodney.
After 27 years of homelessness, I finally have a place to call my own. Thanks to a local charity organization (FSP), my rent will now be covered indefinately as well, until my Disability claim has been approved, and I can take over the rent.
Now I’m on my own—and I need a little support to stay on my feet. Especially ,with the Utilities.
Why I’m Asking, is because, I live with paranoid schizophrenia and PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, and SCHIZO-EFFECTIVE Disorder, and have apending SSI/Disability claim in the process of approval. Until it’s approved, I'm not allowed to earn any money.
I do everything I can, like selling plasma, holding a “Need Groceries, Please Help” sign, and visiting a church pantry twice a week for a bag of groceries. Bûut basic expenses still overwhelm me.
Where Your Gift Will Go:
Your kindness directly covers life’s essentials:
1. Utilities – Pays for electricity, water, and heat so my apartment stays safe and comfortable. $350.00/month
3. Groceries & Toiletries – Provides healthy food and daily necessities. $350.00/month
4. Phone Service – Lets me stay in touch with doctors, attorneys, and support services. $75.00/month.
5. Medications – Covers prescriptions that keep my mental health stable. $90.00/month.
6. Transportation & Laundry – Gets me to medical appointments and keeps my clothes clean. Laundry comes to $25.00/ month.
Transportation prices vary, depending on appointments. But, roughly $150.00/month, if I take the bus everywhere I go.
My first goal of $2,200, will fund roughly three months of these essentials, while I wait for my SSI/Disability decision throughout the next 8-12 months!
Anything extra will keep me stable even longer. I could also use a new pair of shoes.
Why Your Support Matters:
Prevents a return to homelessness.
Ensures I can take my medication and attend appointments on a regular basis.
Gives me breathing room to focus on healing and finding ways to work on the Mental Health challenges, that I can handle. And regain a part of me that was lost with the erosion of time.
Thank You !
Asking for help isn’t easy for me, but kindness like yours keeps me moving forward. Whatever you can give—large or small—makes a real difference. I promise to use every dollar wisely and keep you updated.
From the bottom of my heart, **thank you for believing in me** and helping me build a better future.
With gratitude,
Rodney
