Support the Ressler Family in Their Time of Need

Dear family, friends, and Arcade community members,
As many of you are aware, one of our community members, Mark Ressler, was involved in an unfortunate accident during the snowstorm on Thursday, February 13th. While attending his work truck that was getting towed, Mark was struck by a motor vehicle from behind while standing on the side of the road. By God’s grace, Mark survived the accident and was taken by ambulance to ECMC. Although it initially appeared that the only injuries were a concussion and a broken left leg, the road to recovery is far from over for Mark. In the past 2 weeks since the accident, Mark has continued to experience severe pain, swelling, and blood clots in both legs, leaving him unable to begin walking again and taking steps forward on his healing journey. If that’s not enough, besides needing assistance around the clock, he and his wife, Savannah, are preparing to welcome their 4th child into their family in just a few short weeks.
When accidents like this happen, some of us (like myself) assume that insurance will cover all the incurred costs. However, this is simply not true. While insurance is involved, Mark and Savannah will still face significant out-of-pocket expenses. From medical expenses (hospital stays, doctor visits, transportation costs, etc.) in addition to time lost at work, the accident has and will put a significant financial strain on the family. And with all the unknown complications yet of Mark’s injuries, the timing to full recovery is still unknown.
Anyone who knows Mark and Savannah Ressler knows that they are two of the most caring, kind, and genuine people you will ever meet. Although Mark and Savannah would never ask for help, we all know what it’s like to be in a place of need. This family simply needs our support. The outpouring of love that they have already experienced from the community via texts, calls, cards, and meals has been overwhelming and appreciated, to say the least. That said, I would ask anyone reading this to prayerfully consider supporting this family financially during this difficult time. Any amount – small or large – would be gratefully appreciated and put to good use by the family.
Unfortunately, in life, the unexplained and unwanted happens to most of us at one time or another. It is my hope that our community can and will rally around one of our own families in the hour of their greatest need. I know that the Resslers will be forever grateful.
With all my love – their friend,
