On Tuesday, March 31, 2026, my brother-in-law, Joshua, found out he had a lesion on his brain. That Friday, a neurosurgeon removed the lesion, and it was sent off for biopsy. After a long two weeks, it was discovered the lesion was an aggressive cancer - grade 4 glioma.
Joshua will begin chemo and radiation soon, but the doctors first want to do further tests to make sure they get the right medicines to fight the cancer.
This has all been overwhelming for Joshua, Kara (my sister), and their family. Since Joshua isn’t working and Kara has missed & probably will miss more work down the road, I wanted to create this fundraising page to help ease their financial burdens.
Joshua and Kara are kind, down to earth people, who think of others before themselves. I recall when I was about to drive Kara to the hospital to see Joshua, one of her neighbors approached my car. I was so focused on Kara and Joshua that when he asked if we had a moment to spare, I said no. But Kara quickly said yes. He needed a jump for his car. I was so humbled by her seeing beyond her own situation to still help someone else in need.
If you are not able to give, would you mind saying a prayer for God to help Joshua and Kara, and their family, navigate this hard and unknown journey they have begun.
If you are able to donate, please know they will be blessed by it and very thankful for your generosity. We would appreciate your prayers for them as well.
Thank you for your support!
With a grateful heart,
Kelli Cheever
