Kelly’s Medical Fund

Hello Friends!

Many of you know and love Kelly Roe. She is a great friend to many and cares for others the way no one else does. Kelly is a gem of a human and she needs our help.

Summer of 2021 Kelly began to notice changes in her health. She started to lose weight, break out in rashes, and start to experience extreme fatigue. Then in September she noticed a lump in her breast. She contacted her doctor about these changes in her health and they decided the best course of action was to get a mammogram/ultrasound. She received the results of this exam and the doctors have recommended she get a biopsy on the mass in her breast. The health problems she has been experiencing as well as the type of lump in her breast lead her physician to expect bad results from the biopsy.

Unfortunately as she is a full time student in grad school for Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a part-time employee for a non-profit, she does not have any health insurance. She applied for Medicaid well before the deadline but the application has not been processed. Marketplace healthcare is not an option until/unless she is denied Medicaid.

This means she will be required to pay for the biopsy completely out of pocket. Even with a discounted self-pay fee, the middle ground estimate through Mercy for the procedure is just over 5000 dollars.

If you are willing and able, I am asking you to donate what you can to this fund. I know she would never ask anyone to donate what they cannot afford so please only donate if you are able.

The date of the biopsy is January 14, 2022. I am hoping to raise as much as possible before then.
