Lauren's Medical Bills
Lauren has been fighting for her life these past 3 weeks. She has an autoimmune disease and has had medical issues in the past but it has never been this bad. It started out with pneumonia. After that she never seemed to fully recover. Then she started to cough up blood which made her go into the hospital for a week the first time. They found out she had covid pneumonia and had several blood clots in her lungs and legs. She was discharged but then quickly readmitted when her blood oxygen saturation dipped into the 50s. When she was readmited they found her lungs got worse since last week and she had more bacteria and viruses in her lungs such as the rhino virus, influenza H, and pneumonia once more. She's been in the hospital for about 3 weeks trying to get back on track. Recently, her health took a turn for the worst when her lungs could no longer support her. They found a rip in her left lung. They installed a tube in her lung to help pressurize her lungs so they wouldnt have to work as hard. However, that didn't work. The next day she was intubated and was flight for lifed to another hospital that had more resources. She's now been put on an Ecmo machine which oxygenates her blood. As you can assume, her medical bills are starting to stack up. Lauren wanted to purchase a house this year but will no longer be able to achieve that goal as her medical bills will need to be taken care of first. She is the type of person who never expects anything. She's selfless and anyone who knows her would say she is an amazing person to be around. She's the last person that deserves this and any help would be appreciated.
