On March 4th, my mother unexpectedly passed away at her apartment. She lived off of SSI in a HUD rent-controlled apartment and had zero savings or life insurance to her name. As her only living relative, I am responsible for planning and paying for everything related to her arrangements. Any assistance in offsetting this unexpected cost is greatly appreciated.
