Help me fight Brain Cancer

Donazione protetta
Hi Everyone and Dear Friends,

My name is Istvan, I have been battling stage 4 Metastatic Cancer with Brain Metastasis, and on the 7th of April I have received some devastating news from my MRI and PET scans. There are multiple new metastasis deposits - 8 lesions with one being 5mm and the others being 2 and 3mm. We have tried to handle this situation on our own until now, but my family and I have reached the point where we need extra help. Cancer treatments and therapies are expensive, and recovery takes time. Therefore, I am fundraising to help me cover conventional and complementary cancer treatments, travel to the hospital and assist with covering our rent and bills while I’m out of work. There is hope, and I would be so grateful for your help today! Your donation will be used immediately for infusion therapy, Chinese medicine doctors, targeted supplements, oxidative therapies and more. I deeply believe that my brain can heal with your help receiving these different therapies.

I am a dad to a beautiful girl, Daisy (5) and a great boy Steven (8). My wife Noemi is a wonderful woman I love more than words can describe. She is my rock and gives me strength every day. With her help and devotion, our family began a new healthier lifestyle and adapted new habits to foster a better quality of life.

My cancer journey started in November 2012 when I was diagnosed with skin cancer, where a large mole was removed. Four months later, I underwent a second surgery where the previous mole scar had to be cut around, and the axillary sentinel nods had to be removed. My recovery went well, I was feeling stronger by the day and my regular scans were due to be changed to yearly scans. Then, the doctors found two tiny deposits on my right anterior chest. In December 2015, I had to have another surgery to remove it. Again, the recovery went well and life was beautiful for a while.

In December 2019, a regular MRI scan picked up something small again. This time, in my brain. As doctors were unsure at the time what it could be, they referred me to have another scan. On the 13th of February 2020, just a day before Valentine’s Day, I was diagnosed with Metastatic Melanoma Cancer with Brain Metastasis. It shocked my family and me. I had to have targeted therapy after the diagnosis, and I have started monthly immunotherapy for a 2-year period. Attending the treatment has kept me cancer-free, and there was no evidence of disease shown on my scan results in June 2021.

Unfortunately, my wife and I contracted COVID-19 not long after, which became a huge burden for my immune system for 12-14 weeks. My following MRI scan was due in September, and our fear became a reality when the result showed a new 2mm metastasis. I was referred to radiosurgery and continued with the monthly immunotherapy. Hospital visits became more frequent and my MRI scan in December showed two lesions. I was booked for radiosurgery again, which took place in January 2022.

As the new year started, we were hopeful that things would change for the better and all our efforts would be rewarded. Our lifestyle changes included eliminating sugar and processed foods, and we began a vegan and animal-free diet. However, on the 21st of March, I had three verrucae frozen off my finger, which left inflammation and was rather painful. I had a high temperature the following days, but we managed to keep it under control at home. A few days went by and I noticed I was getting tired quicker than usual and experienced shortness of breath - I thought spring was here and I was experiencing “spring fatigue.” A week later another MRI and PET scan took place, and the result came back with the life-changing news: 8 new lesions.

I was able to continue working while receiving immunotherapy treatment. However recently I have had to limit the amount of work I am physically able to do. I really would like to go back to work as soon as possible. I also have many things to teach my son about my work and teach my daughter how to ride a bicycle.

If you can spare anything, I would be so grateful for your help today!
Your donation will be used immediately. If you cannot donate financially, sharing my page now would be equally helpful. With the power of social media, I hope to have another chance at life and spend more precious time with the people that I love the most. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I will be eternally grateful for your generosity, kindness, thoughts and prayers. Please imagine me with a healthy brain when you pray for me.

Thank you so much
Istvan
