As you may know, my son Bryan was driving to work on March 25, 2023 and was hit head-on by a drunk driver. His left arm was broken clean through near the shoulder, and his back and neck were injured. He has been out of work on disability (which is only 60% of his pay) ever since and was scheduled to return to work on September 25. Bills have been piling up, but Bryan thought he would be able to dig out from under them soon after returning to work. Unfortunately, on September 5, 2023, Bryan was t-boned on the driver's door by an SUV and was seriously injured. His pelvis was fractured into many pieces, and his spleen was lacerated. He was covered with broken glass because most of the car windows broke. I don't usually say this, but fortunately Bryan was not wearing his seatbelt, and he was thrown to the passenger seat - we feel that this saved him from much more serious internal injuries and possible loss of use of his leg. Bryan has been hospitalized since the accident and had surgery to put his pelvis back together on September 11. He now has 3 large screws holding the pieces together and 50-60 staples holding his 3 incisions together. His spleen is recovering well. On Sept 15 Bryan was moved to a rehab at the hospital where he has intense physical and occupational therapies. He can take baby steps with a walker but is not able to bear his full weight on his left leg. Bryan is facing another 3-5 month recovery, and we do not know how long he will be out of work on disability. In the meantime, his bills continue to need to be paid - things like rent, health insurance (because while he is on long term disability, his employer wants reimbursement for the premiums they are paying for him), medical bills not covered by insurance, buying a new vehicle, etc. Anything you could contribute to help him out would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for considering a donation!
