Support Cassie's Journey to Independence

As Cassie’s mom and right hand woman, I have had the opportunity and privilege of watching her slowly and painstakingly regain what was taken from her on October 19, 2023, when she suffered her initial cardiac arrest, immediately followed by an anoxic brain injury, resulting in the loss of all of her abilities to function independently.

Over the course of the last year and 8 months she has relearned many of her skills and continues to work towards her goal of being an independent woman.

Therapy is an integral part of helping Cassie to reach this goal. Our family has chosen to hire therapists and tutors privately so that her therapists can be chosen by us based on their ability to connect with Cassie and create sessions that are geared towards her interests and specific needs. The women who work with her each week have a genuine interest in Cassie as a person and are deeply invested in her healing journey. In this way, Cassie is not just a part of the system, she is a priority. And her improvement is a testament that this approach is working.

We are raising money this month to help us fund her continued therapy. She would like to add a therapist who helps her learn to drive again when then time is right. We do not want to deny Cassie any therapy that she is willing to put the hard work and effort into doing. Your donations will help us say yes to therapy! And not just to any therapy, but the specific therapy that will help our girl reach towards her goals.
