Please help Princess get better

We (Nic and Max) have rescued Princess from certain death in April, after she was thrown in a hole with rotting carcasses and left to die.

We had to call the authorities to help us get her out of the hole and she was rescued by the Bomberos and the Guardia Civil.

Unfortunately for the owner, she was chipped, and when they found out who she belonged to he didn't have a decent answer for why she was found where she was.

Understandably, Princess was very traumatized by her ordeal. So, instead of giving her to a random shelter, we decided to take her in "temporarily".

The Guardia Civil told us to keep receipts for anything we spend on her, so that when they take the owner to court he'd have to refund the costs of looking after Princess.

This was fine for 6 months, but on the 17th of September 2023 Princess developed grand mal seizures seemingly out of nowhere. At the 2nd seizure we called an emergency vet in Tortosa who told us we could bring her in, and she had 2 more seizures on the way. That was a pretty scary ride.

She's been at the Nexo vets in Tortosa since midday sunday 17th Sept.

She's been sedated but had more seizures overnight.

Her initial bloodwork shows elevated proteins, which the vets think might be the result of some sort of infection.

So now the vets would like to do an intracranial CAT scan and some further tests to try and find out what is causing the neurological issues.

They have asked for 690€ for these tests, to be paid in advance before the test can be performed.

We have already paid 200€ for the initial emergency visit and bloodwork, and we just don't have 690€ for these tests.

I have spent all morning calling Seprona to ask for an update on the case; I'm trying to get in touch with some rescues to see if they can subsidize/help; I don't know where else we can turn.

We please ask anyone who can afford to donate anything towards Princess' medical care.

If we do get these funds from you kind people and Seprona/the courts/the old owner eventually refunds us, we will donate the money to an animal rescue in need.
