Hello everyone my name is Emily Dunlap, I am 20 years old and the only child of my dad Richard Dunlap. I am starting this go fund me in order to help my dad who has been given much more than he and I can handle. My father was recently diagnosed with stage four metastasized melanoma which is a terminal and aggressive form of skin cancer. It has transferred from skin cancer and has also formed in his organs. Hopefully we will be starting treatment very soon, but we still don’t know if he will be approved. If he starts treatment it will take a lot more out of him. We would've been able to get it treated much sooner if it wasn't for a misdiagnosis 7 months ago. So for 6 months now my father hasn't been able to work due to the pain and constant spread of the growth. As of this moment, the metastasized melanoma has completely taken over my father's body and made it harder for him to do anything but lay down. Although the chemo treatment itself will most likely be covered, it falls on me to be able to take care of him as he goes through something as draining as chemo. Using this money I would be able to help make my dad more comfortable as he goes through treatment, like the proper and healthy food he is required to eat as well as the medicine needed, and a sturdy hospital grade bed for him to sleep on. I wish I didn't have to ask for help but I have exhausted all of my resources. I would have a second job right now but unfortunately I cannot get one since I’m taking care of him. My dad is the most loving and wonderful person I have ever known, most importantly he's my best friend. He's taken care of me my whole life, and always did the best he could as a single father. He deserves to be comfortable through this rough and long journey to come. I would be eternally grateful to anyone that can help, even the smallest donation would make the world of a difference.
