Last week, my stepmom and stepdad, Rikki Taddei (Mecum) and Toby Mecum, lost their home in Greenville, CA due to the Dixie Fire. Both Rikki and Toby were born and raised in Greenville, CA. They even graduated from the high school straight across the street from their home. Rikki and Toby have always been so willing to help anyone in need. Toby is often found running around to lend a hand with odd jobs all around the valley and lake for others. Rikki can always be found out gathering all of the local stray cats to get spayed or neutered (she took over 30 recently, and paid out of her own pocket and homes over 100). These two are the first to help out others in need. Unfortunately, they were still paying the mortgage on this home they had recently purchased together, and were denied fire insurance due to the area the home was located in. Any money from this donation goes immediately to help rebuild their lives in this town that has always been their home. They do not ask others for help, but are often the first to give it. I know that it would move them more than words can say to have such support during this time. While many irreplaceable items were lost by them and so many others during this tragic event, we know how strong we can all be when we come together.
