Recently, my cousin Isaac Garcia passed away due to complications caused by Covid-19. Unfortunately, Isaac left behind four young children and his wife Lucia which currently reside in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. Isaac was the sole breadwinner for his family. Since, Isaac had recently lost his employment the family did not qualify for any assistance, benefits and/or pension. The family has also exhausted the minimal saving they had and are currently living in dire straits. As many of you might know, there are no safeguards in Mexico to assist families in need like there are in the U.S.. Currently, there is a severe Covid-19 pandemic in Mexicali which makes it extremely difficult for Lucia to gain employment to support her children. I cannot imagine what the kids and Lucia are going through at this time... It is hard enough to lose a loved one but it is unimaginable to also have to worry about your day to day existence while also trying to grieve the loss of a loved one. Although, nobody can ease the pain the Garcia Family is currently going through, I want to believe we can assist them with the everyday human needs in the short term, which will at least give them time to grieve. I realize we are all going through a difficult time now... but anything you might find it in your heart to support this family will truly be appreciated. Thankyou.
