We are two Latina sisters, Coachella Valley natives—born and raised desert rats. Living in DHS has really molded who we are and the business model we've created today.
In the summer of 2023, we decided to join our local street vendors and set up a thrift pop-up at “Friday Nights on Pierson.” Our intention was to curate stylish, affordable, accessible, and sustainable clothing. With the help of the city, we were able to open a temporary commercial space in a home garage across Azure Palm Hot Springs Hotel. After our 3-month agreement ended, we found a space we could actually afford off of Palm Drive. Unfortunately, it was too good to be true... the building did not pass inspection and was ordered to be demolished.
After operating from an abandoned building for months, we've finally been able to save up for a deposit on an official space. We will actually have the shop we've always dreamed about and on Pierson Blvd. We believe everything happens for a reason. So while this whole process has been discouraging, uncomfortable, and scary, it's also been a big part of our growth. Being first-generation business owners, we've come across many obstacles from not knowing basic lingo to not having funds for permits and repairs. We hope to bring our community together with not just clothes but educational workshops, family events, and just providing a loving space for locals to connect.
We aim to use our resources to amplify mutual aid networks within our communities—especially our unhoused neighbors. Without community love, we are nothing. We are asking for any donations for permits and renovations. We promise to always use our platform and resources to give back in any way we can. We are beyond proud and excited for our new chapter. Love always... Care•Repair•Restore•Protect
