In 2014, Nicu was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. After multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiations over the whole body, he received the first marrow transplant in March 2015. The side effects of this were terrible, spending close to three months in hematology and bone marrow transplant sections.
In 2017 cancer came back. A second marrow transplant was planned by the medics with a success rate of 10%. Another round of chemotherapy, radiations, and hospital time again. This transplant failed.
In October 2017 a subsequent medical procedure was done: donor lymphocytes infusion. The doctors said Nicu had a 0% chance of survival, but after the family insisted, they agreed to perform this intervention. God stepped in, transforming the 0% chance into a great success rate, and the cancer was in remission until the beginning of 2020.
In February 2020 leukemia came back, this time as a tumor on the right lung. At this point, the Canadian doctors said there is nothing left they can do, other than some radiations to help slow the spread and to prolong life for another few weeks or maybe months.
He started the radiations, and after 6 weeks the tumor got smaller but was later discovered in other areas as well.
Presently, conventional medicine can only help with medication against pain, which barely has the strength to temper the excruciating pain he suffers while he is receiving medical care in his home.
However, there is still a glimmer of hope, an alternative treatment at a clinic in Mexico. The clinic is called Oasis of Hope. They offer integrative treatment for cancer, and the cost for the first three weeks of treatment, weeks that are essential and definitive, is approximately CAD 60.000.

Nicu Baican, un adevărat erou care a învins imposibilul în urmă cu aproximativ 3 ani, se luptă din nou cu aceeași boală nemiloasă: Leucemia.
Un soț deosebit, tată a doi copii minunați, luptă pentru cel mai scump lucru de pe pământ VIAȚA, și are nevoie de ajutorul nostru. Să luptăm impreună cu Nicu pentru viață.

În 2014, Nicu a fost diagnosticat cu leucemie mieloida acută. După multiple runde de chimioterapie și radiații ale întregului corp, în Martie 2015 a avut primul transplant de maduvă osoasă. Efectele secundare ale tratamentelor au fost teribile, a petrecut în total aproape trei luni în spital.
În 2017 boala s-a întors. Doctorii i-au oferit un al doilea transplant de măduva dar, au zis că are aproximativ 10% șanse de reușită. A trebuit să facă din nou chimioterapie și radiații ale intregului corp dar mai puțin decât pentru primul transplant și a stat timp de o lună în spital. Din păcate acest transplant nu a reușit...
În Octombrie 2017 i s-a oferit ultima procedură care se mai putea face, infuzie cu limfocite de la donator (donor lymphocites infusion). Doctorii ziceau ca sansele de reușită sunt aproape de 0% dar alt tratament nu mai putea fi luat în considerare.
Cu toate acestea, cu ajutorul lui Dumnezeu, procedura a reușit iar boala a fost în remisie până la începutul anului 2020.
În Februarie 2020 leucemia s-a întors, de această dată sub formă de tumoare deasupra plămânului drept (anterior a fost doar în măduva osoasă).
Doctorii spun că de această dată nu mai au nimic să iî ofere doar niște radiații care ajută la incetinirea evoluției bolii și a-i prelungi viața o scurtă perioadă de timp (săptămâni poate luni).
A făcut radiațiile și după șase săptămâni, în urma analizelor făcute, efectul a fost unul benefic, tumoarea descoperită la început s-a mai micșorat dar din nefericire au fost depistate tumori noi în alte două zone.
La acest moment tot ce a mai rămas din partea medicinei convenționale sunt medicamentele puternice impotriva durerii, care alină în măsură nesemnificativă durerea grea de suferit, fiind îngrijit medical la domiciliu.
Nu ne pierdem speranța, am căutat o altă variantă de tratament, și singura care prezintă șanse este o clinică în Mexic care oferă tratament alternativ (integrative) pentru cancer. Clinica se numește Oasis of Hope și costul aproximativ al primelor trei săptămâni de tratament, care sunt esențiale și determinante, este de aproximativ 60,000 de dolari Canadieni.
