Ciao a tutti, mi chiamo Matteo e ho 20 anni.

La mia vita dal 21 marzo è cambiata radicalmente, per mesi ho sofferto di depressione e nonostante io abbia chiesto aiuto a medici specializzati nessuno di loro ha creduto al dolore che stavo provando. Dopo una lunga battaglia personale con la voglia di morire ho tentato il suicidio.

La caduta mi ha provocato la frattura delle vertebre cervicali C5-C6 portandomi a vivere la mia vita in carrozzina.

Ho una paralisi del più del 70% del mio corpo con conseguente perdita di autonomia motoria e sensoriale

Dopo 40 giorni di rianimazione e vari interventi inizio il percorso riabilitativo, ora c’è una nuova possibilità: un intervento chirurgico per la rigenerazione del midollo spinale.

Questo intervento ha costi elevati non coperti dal sistema sanitario nazionale che non riesco a coprire da solo

Hello! My name is Matteo and I am 20 years old. On the 21st March 2025 my life changed radically; for months I had been suffering from depression and despite the fact that I asked for help from doctors, no one believed in my pain. After a long personal battle I tried to kill myself as I wished to die. The fall caused me to break the C5 and C6 cervical vertebrae, now I live in a wheelchair. I have 70% of my body paralysed with a consequential loss of physical and sensory independence. After 40 days in the Critical Unit Care and several surgeries I started my rehabilitation journey. Now there is a new treatment: Spinal Cord Regeneration Surgery. Thus surgery has high costs that cannot be covered by the National Health System and that I cannot afford. Every help you can offer means everything to me and it is a step further towards my objective: coming back to LIFE.
