Help Kevin Rebuild After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
This past week, Hurricane Helene touched down in the southeast United States. As it made its way inland, parts of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee endured some of the worst flooding that the region has ever seen. The death toll is still unknown. Folks lost their homes, their personal belongings, and life as they knew it.
My name is Connor McDermott. My cousin Kevin McDermott is one of the individuals that has been affected. Kevin and his friends live in Boone, NC, and endured some of the worst flooding. He and his friends are safe, but their home is destroyed. They lost personal belongings and are currently trying to figure out where they will go next. Kevin is a successful carpenter and is unable to work, as it is impossible to get in and out of Boone with rampant road closures all over the region. Without being able to work, or knowing where he will be living next, costs are already beginning to pile up.
Donations will be used to help Kevin get his life back in order, find new housing, day to day costs as he is out of work, and help him begin to dig out of the wreckage. Kevin has a heart of gold and is an incredibly skilled carpenter. The photos you see here are of his home, but there are countless homes across the region that have also been affected or destroyed. In addition to helping himself, he will be using a portion of the funds to help folks in his community begin to rebuild their homes and lives.
If you have the ways and means to do so, we hope you would consider donating. We are forever grateful for your generosity and support.
Thank you,
Connor McDermott & the extended McDermott family
