On the afternoon of February 24th, Portage Firefighter Jacob Mahoney and his 4-year-old son Luca were hit broadside by a juvenile recklessly operating a stolen vehicle in the City of Kalamazoo. Both sustained serious injuries, including fractures, with Jacob's injuries requiring surgical intervention. Both remain at Bronson Hospital and thankfully are expected to recover.

In addition to Luca, Jacob and his wife Nichol have a 2 1/2-year-old daughter. Our goal is to raise funds for the incidental expenses the Mahoney family will incur during their recovery.
