Team BC/EGW: No Stopping Us!

Our brother Chad was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. This account has been set up by his Fraternity Brothers to help off set his rising medical bills. We have set our goal but know that it it just the tip of the iceberg so let's go beyond it.

Chad Williams. Where do I begin?

I wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything so I asked my brothers to send me their stories, thoughts and feelings about Chad. What I received was so much more than that. I was flooded with voicemails, emails and text messages. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, had something fantastic to say about Chad. So much so, that I invite all my brothers, Chad’s friends and families to share those same stories below.

There were so many regaled tales that I’m not including them here as this is an intro and not The Novel of Chad Williams. Not to mention, The Novel of Chad Williams would have a much cooler name.

I could tell you about how Chad is a great brother, a great friend. How he is a wonderful, understanding father to his daughter Emma. Or a devoted disciple of God (or “The Boss” as he likes to refer to him.) I could count the tens of thousands of miles Chad has travelled to visits friends and family or work as a missionary. I could elaborate on any one of these topics and you would see just how astonishing a man Chad Williams is.

However, one word resonated more than any other in the outpouring of stories about Chad.

That word is: Selfless.

Chad Williams is the most selfless man I’ve ever met. In fact, he’s so completely selfless I don’t know if I comprehend how he does it. Chad’s the kind of man that will drop what he’s doing, no matter how important, to spend just a little more time with Emma. Or to help a friend in need. One of my fraternity brothers described Chad as the “mortar” that holds all us brothers (bricks) together. I think that’s as good an analogy as any.

Ok, ok this is getting a little sappy. And it’s starting to sound like a eulogy.

Make no mistake. This is no eulogy. Far from it.

This is a declaration of war. Cancer picked the wrong guy to mess with. You know why? Because Chad Williams doesn’t quit. So, neither will we. Chad Williams never backs down. I stand by my brother. Chad’s brothers stand united. Chad’s family stands united. I encourage anyone else who’s had their lives touched by Chad to join us as well. We do this together.

Chad Williams versus Cancer? I’ll take those odds. My money’s on Chad. And I invite you to put your money on the smart bet, as well.

Today cancer loses. Today CLL/SLL (chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma) raises the white flag. No other outcome exists.

Why?

Because Chad Williams doesn’t know how to lose. And neither do we.
