Please help 25 yr old and son move out domestic ab

Hi my name is Lisa and I own a catering company where we specialize in organic school lunches. One of our employees told me her story a few weeks ago and it really affected me. Then today, Thursday, April 13th she came to work with another bruise on her face and I and a few of us stepped in to help. Here is what I know:

M as we will call her comes from Guatemala. She owned a small dress shop and gave the local gang money every week to continue to operate. Sort of like the mafia it seems. Ok so there's that but I guess it's just normal life there.

During the pandemic, she could not pay them. They then set her house on fire. She grabbed her young son and went on the road all the way up through Mexico and was at the border for over a year with her son. Also her mother was getting treatment for cancer when this happened and along her journey in Mexico, M's mother passed.

Apparently a person can seek asylum in the US if someone can come for you (basically you just need an address). So a man she somehow met came and got her and her son. She has been living with him for a bit and he is very jealous and has hit her before. Today she came with another bruise on her face. I have called the shelters and one of the questions was has he put his hands around your neck and the answer after saying no at first, was yes.

That is the most lethal form of domestic abuse apparently.

Her son is 10 and is in 2nd grade. He lost of course his first few years of schooling. She has no family here. She is scared. I hugged her today and she finally broke down sobbing. We are still between going to a shelter, to this lady's house who is an angel and helps people like her, or my house. But long term she will need a place to live. She works with us as a dishwasher for $19 an hour and has a second job at night. The child needs a parent so I would love to give her some room for a minute to only work one job and not work at night. She takes great pride in her work with us and has a special light and spirit. I want to help her get an apartment and get her son maybe a tutor and into an activity or two. She is 25 so she had him as a baby herself. Also will work on getting her some therapy for herself but first we need to get her safe. I am helping a bit and thought I would open this to the greater community.
