“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”
Going to college has been an experience of a lifetime for me, and I am so thankful for all of the opportunities that I have been awarded as a student at The University of Georgia. Even before I became a Bulldog, I dreamed of the time that I would be able to continue my education internationally and knew that I wanted studying abroad to be a part of my college experience. Now as I am finishing up my second year at UGA studying Business Management with a minor in Dance and certification in Entrepreneurship, I have the opportunity to study abroad in Barcelona, Spain. This program will not only allow me to advance in my college studies, but will also allow me to get a global perspective on the world, while discovering more about myself and immersing into a different culture. I will be taking two business courses during this program at The Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona, one of the highest ranked universities in Spain. Besides the prestige education that I will receive in the heart of Barcelona, I will also be staying with a Spanish-speaking family so that I can fully experience this country from the perspective of the people who live in it every day. The duration of this program last for 7 weeks beginning this May and will include:
· Tuition
· Airfare
· Housing and meals (with host family)
· Medical Insurance &
· Cultural Activities and Excursions

I know that in order for me to make this experience a reality it will take a lot of hard work on my end. I am currently working two jobs at school as an office assistant in UGA’s Human Resources Department, and as a tour leader at the UGA Visitors Center and will stay at school to work full-time during Spring Break. In addition to work, I also serve on the executive board for Georgia Daze, a minority recruitment program that brings underrepresented students to the university; I am a member of the Rose Society, the official football recruitment program for the UGA Athletic Association, and a volunteer at Extra Special People Inc., a center for special needs children and young adults. From all of my campus involvement and determination to make a difference not only at my school, but in my community, I see just how these experiences are shaping me into the person I am today. Studying abroad this summer in Spain will be the greatest experience of my college career and will further shape me into the well-rounded individual that I strive to be. I know that from this experience I will return home with a new perspective on culture, an eagerness to promote cultural diversity in my community, and the ability to be able to connect and communicate with individuals from all different backgrounds. But I won’t make it without your help.
I hope that you not only see this program as a great opportunity, but as an investment in my future. Please feel free to spread this along to anyone you feel would support my dreams as well. ANY amount will help and is greatly appreciated!
