After years of dreaming, I’m finally stepping into a full year of service with AmeriCorps—living and working in Alamosa, Colorado, a rural community surrounded by deep poverty, addiction, resilient off-grid families, and powerful need.
I’ll be helping manage the local food bank full-time all year round serving those most in need with compassion and consistency. This opportunity is not just a job—it's my calling.
But I need your help to make it through this year.
With temperatures dropping as low as -40°F, I’m raising funds for:
Warm coats, boots & winter gear
Basic hygiene and food essentials
Shared car gas costs
Modest rent in communal AmeriCorps housing
This isn’t just about surviving the cold—it’s about showing up fully for the people I’m here to serve.
I’ve been met with so much love already, and every prayer, share, or dollar means the world. I truly believe God led me here. Your support will help carry me through this year of heart-work and hands-on hope.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
With love,
Lyss
Your support would help cover:
- Coat, boots, warm clothes for the potential -40 degrees weather in Colorado
- Gas money
- Basic essentials like food, hygiene products
- Housing Rent
If you’re able to give or share, thank you dearly. I’m finally at the point where the most honest and brave thing I can do is ask. May God bless you and be with you.
