Hello, My name is Ashley and I am organizing this to help my sweet, beautiful niece and her family through this difficult uncertain time. Lyssa is 15 years old. She is a very active teenager who is a cheerleader for her football and basketball teams.

Her quality of life has certainly declined since her diagnosis of Ulcerative Colitis back in March 2023. This dx is not curable but it can be treatable. Unfortunately Lyssa’s body is not responding at all to the medical interventions the doctors have tried. Since March she has gone only two weeks without pain or bleeding. She has been ordered numerous medical regimen and injections to help lessen her flare ups, unfortunately all interventions have failed. She has been hospitalized several times in the last 6 months and is going to be in and out of the hospital over the next 6 weeks or more. She has had non stop flare ups and is now dealing with a very serious complication due to her Ulcerative Colitis. She is currently going on week 2 of being hospitalized this round. She is being pumped full of antibiotics, steroids and other medications as the doctors try to stop the progression of this awful disease.

She is now facing almost certain surgery. During this surgery they will remove her large intestines and she will be faced with caring for a colostomy bag. A colostomy bag is basically a bag on the abdomen where her stool will drain into. You can imagine how this is affecting her emotionally and psychologically.

Please pray for her. She is such a kind soul and is constantly worried about her family as well as herself.

You can imagine the burden my brother and sister in law have, trying to get the funds to pay for rising hospital expenses and to be at the hospital with Lyssa and also being home for her brother Camron, Please help in anyway.
