Lyra's Medical Fund

Donation protected
On Valentine's Day the doctor called, and our lives changed.
My wife Lyra (I told my mom that she was the woman I would marry on the day I met her. We celebrate our 20th anniversary this month) was diagnosed with uterine cancer that day. Talk about a stomach punch. Telling the kids was tough. She had surgery to remove an aggressive stage 3 tumor a month later. Thankfully she has a good prognosis, but the bills for therapies that are not covered by our insurance are adding up fast. It turns out that it is very expensive getting healthy, especially when you want to keep things as natural and holistic as possible. With her unable to work (she has two part-time jobs) during her recovery, things have gotten tough. In a perfect world everything would be covered, and I wouldn't have to reach out to our friends, families and communities to make it work. On Valentine's Day we found out just how imperfect life can be.
The good news is that Lyra has a great outlook on life, and is a faithful Christian woman. My best friend, and maybe the world's best homeschool mom, has remained very active, switched to a fully organic, and vegan, diet (also expensive) and is not aiming to be a "survivor" but a conqueror.
Any help is appreciated. If you can not donate financially, please keep her in prayer, and add her to any prayer chain or list you belong to. Next Valentine's Day we hope to have this behind us, and to celebrate like we should have this year.
