If you are reading this, you probably won’t be surprised to hear that our family has started exploring the potential of moving overseas to serve as international missionaries. We are writing to you because we would love to invite you to join us in prayer and financial support as we consider where the Lord might have us serve.
As many of you know, we have been living in Louisville,
Kentucky for almost 8 years now. While living in Louisville, we
have sought to invest deeply into our local church, Immanuel Baptist Church. We have both had the pleasure of serving as Sunday School Teachers and Jonathan has been serving as a small group leader for just over 3 years. In addition, 4 years ago, we moved into a neighborhood with a large population of refugees and immigrants in an effort to welcome the sojourner and be the light of Christ to internationals in our city. We love the fact that we get to serve the nations by literally loving our next-door neighbors. Through all of this, we have become more and more determined that full time ministry is our heart’s desire.
Over the years, we have been having ongoing discussions with our Missions Pastor about potential places to serve, trying to stay open to where the Lord may lead. We long to partner with ongoing missionary efforts alongside those who have already been sent from our church. While it will likely be some time before we move overseas long term, we are currently exploring locations in South Asia and Southeast Asia. Our next step in this process is for Jonathan to take a vision trip to two countries in these regions this summer. Our goal in this is to see what work is going on and whether either of those places would be a good place for us to move as a family. Both locations have individuals from our church currently serving there, and we are excited about exploring the potential each one holds. That is where you come in! Would you kindly consider supporting us as we embark on the beginning stages of our missionary goals?
Two ways we are seeking support are as follows.
- Please pray for wisdom and discernment as we explore where the Lord might lead our family.
- Pray for the Lord to help Shelby care for Rosie at home while Jonathan is traveling.
- If you would like to support us financially, please consider contributing to our GoFundMe. Our church is generously contributing already but we are actively trying to raise $4,000 to send Jonathan on these trips. Our fundraising deadline is April 5th.
Thank you for supporting us as we endeavor to follow the Lord's leading in our lives! Your financial contributions are a blessing to our family and our future goals. Please continue to support us in prayer as we explore where the Lord might lead our family.
