Friday 13th may be unlucky for some, but we will say it was lucky for our little fighter, Lynx.

It all started with normal puppy behaviour with her siblings, living life, playing, eating, learning with mum... until we noticed she wasn’t herself.

Gastro, parvo, virus, blockage? There's so many things that run through our heads when a dog, let alone a puppy, is not well.

High alert from the foster carers & being watched like a hawk, we saw the deterioration happening & decided she needed to go straight to the vet that evening.

The Diagnosis dropped: an intussuscepting bowel.

Emergency surgery was needed immediately to save her or we needed to call it and opt for euthanasia. She would not survive without help.

As a rescue, we take responsibility for these babies care from the moment we take them in. We couldn't bear to have a life snatched away so cruelly without a fighting chance so we said "fudge it! Let’s save her and we will find the money somehow!"

It was a long night for us but we finally got a call at 2.30am to say she had made it through the massive surgery & was in care for the next 12hrs with the following 72hr period being critical for recovery.

Well, she's here today thriving back with her family because of this!

After we just got hit with the unexpected surgery needed for Onxy ($13K vet bill) after he was surrended at the vet in critical state, we did not plan for another 8k bill to be coming our way so soon but, how could we not do everything we could to save her?
