Help Lynn Move Beyond The Flames- Lynn’s Fire Fund

Donation protected
Hello all! My name is Shannon, and I’m going to tell you a little bit about my amazing mom, Lynn Gracie-Rogers, and her current situation. My mom is such a generous and kind person. She’s a computer teacher at Pittsfield High School, and loves her students so much. She gives her all to anyone who needs it, even if she goes without. She even helps random strangers if they need it and is all around an amazing person. Anyone who knows my mom, knows she’s passionate about 3 things- Teaching, Tiny Houses, and black cats. Today, she lost two of those things, when there was a devastating fire in her tiny home. This morning around 6am, my mom woke up to a strange orange glow downstairs from her loft in her tiny house. She went down the ladder to investigate and opened her front door to a raging fire outside her door. She ran back to the loft and called for her cat, Chance, but she wouldn’t come. She made the split decision to leave her cat, and that saved my moms life. She ran to the door and realized her door was fiberglass, so she pushed the door towards the flames, and climbed to safety. She ran to her landlords house and banged on the door, and had them call 911. Within 5 minutes of escaping, the propane tank that was used to heat her house caused an enormous explosion. Chance was still inside, and unfortunately didn’t make it. It took 15 minutes from the time they called the fire department to when they arrived, and her entire house and everything inside was gone. She lost everything, and doesn’t even have any clothes or shoes. She had to borrow crocs from her landlord so that she could go to Walmart to purchase a pair of Jeans and a shirt and get a new phone so she could contact my sister and I. Not only that, My mom is a techie and She lost all of her electronics- both of her phones, 3 iPads, her personal computer, and her work computer. She needs this stuff to do her job. My mom is such a kind and caring person, who gives back whenever she can. It is now time for us to give back to her, and help her start her new normal, without her most prized possessions- her best friend, Chancey Cat, and her tiny house she has been working on for almost 10 years.
