Hello. My name is Lindsay Olivieri and for those of you who know my mother, you know that she is the actual definition of what some call a peach. She is the most caring and wonderful person in my life and she is all around amazing. For those of you who don't know my mother, i'll briefly explain her.
She is the person who will always laugh at your jokes no matter how bad they are, she will make you food at any time of the day. She's the person who always falls for the "roll down your window" trick when a homeless person approaches our car. She is also the person that will give you anything that she has if it makes you happy. What i'm saying here is that she is absolutely a blessing.
Two years ago she was diagnosed with Lung cancer. She had most of it removed, but endured a complication. The surgeons could not get the last of it because it was so close to a main artery. It was either take the chance or monitor it. We chose to monitor it. After two years of being 'cancer free' and monitoring the last part, in december one of her scans showed nodules in her liver. After a biopsy, it was confirmed that it was cancer. She was signed up to undergo a trial of a new drug that is being tested to help cure cancer, until the doctors found more nodules in her brain. She then went through around 6 hours of radiation to remove those, and came home with two holes in her head but she still had the biggest smile on her face. She is now wearing oxygen but she is home and she is giving this sickness one hell of a battle.
Although she is a fighter and a tough one at that, the medical expenses are getting the best of my family. The "goal" that I had to set for this isn't really the goal. Any little thing helps out. Whether it is a prayer, a friend, or a donation. All donations will go towards her medical bills. I sincerely appreciate anyone who has taken the time to read this. Thank you so much.
