On March 3, 2021, Lynne M. Holy passed away after a short but valiant battle with cancer - her fifth and final fight with it in twenty two years. Despite the circumstances, Lynne never let illness stand in her way of fulfilling a life of service. Helping children with special needs was her passion in life. Lynne cared for special needs children at Misericordia Home, Heart of Mercy, for over 33 years and counting. She was also a special education teacher of kindergarten through second grade at Community Consolidated School District 93 for the past thirteen years. Throughout her career, Lynne worked endlessly to find creative ways to reach children, stimulating their interests and guiding them to believe in themselves.

In her honor, CCSD93 has established the The Lynne M. Holy Memorial Scholarship Fund. Contributions will enable preschool and elementary school students within CCSD93 who are at-risk or have special needs to enroll in academic and extracurricular programs throughout the year that would otherwise not be available to them due to cost. Please consider joining Lynne’s family and friends in honoring her legacy of lifting up children to reach their highest potential.
