My mom, Lynne, started her Multiple Myeloma cancer journey in late 2019 and received her stem cell transplant in March 2020. (yes, under COVID lockdowns) Many people helped Lynne meet her medical, treatment travel, and living expenses by donating to the previous fundraiser and we are extremely grateful for that!
Since the transplant Lynne has experienced relapsed myeloma and has now completed 4 treatment plan changes as the old medicines stop being effective in reducing or maintaining her kappa light chain count. Her Hematology team at Moffitt Cancer Center have indicated the best course is for Lynne to undergo CAR-T cell therapy (link below) which will require her to stay close to Moffitt for around 30-45 days. After she is discharged from the initial 2 week inpatient care, Lynne will have a caregiver 24/7 and will make daily visits to the center for labs, checkups, and progress monitoring.
Our plan is to use the same temporary housing company as 4 years ago which places us very close to the campus. This expense along with her out-of-pocket insurance bills, food, and travel is another hurdle for Lynne. Please share this link and consider a donation or note of encouragement to help raise her spirits. I will be posting timeframe updates as we learn them, but the first step is insurance approvals and evaluations visits.
