Thank you to each of you for donating for calling, for caring and reaching out.

Since this GoFundMe was created Lynne has recently earned her peaceful place in heaven.

She passed away on July 4th 2023 with her husband Steve's arms wrapped around her. She wanted to stay and fight She was definitely not giving up. Her body failed her. We will be closing down this GoFund me and a memorial mass will be held at a later date as per Lynne's request, No wake No funeral. To honor her please put someone else before yourself today as she always did.

Many of you know me already, but for those who do not, my name is Kimberlee.
Lynne and I have been friends since we were around 7 years old.
Lynne’s health history began as a baby at age 14 months. She was diagnosed with a rare cancer called a Neuroblastoma that was treated with radiation and chemotherapy, mostly experimental.
At age 15 she developed a rare cancer of the bone called osteosarcoma. She had a unique surgery where they removed most of her hip bone.
She had chemo and radiation again.
Despite the odds these treatments saved her life.
Lynne managed to go to high school and tried to live a normal teenage life. She graduated high school and then from UMass Amherst in 1990. In 1993 Lynne survived a traumatic accident in Boston. She was run over by a truck while crossing the street. She sustained many broken bones and punctured organs and had a long recovery.

In 2000 she developed another bone infection. They had to remove her femoral head, the last remaining bone on her right side after the cancer surgery.

Lynne has worked and volunteered in the cancer community for the majority of her life. She worked for the American Cancer Society and then The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society where she was Director of Patient Services and Advocacy. In 2019 we were hopeful that she would be able to receive my kidney but devastatingly, it wasn't possible due to her weakened veins and so she just begin dialysis this April and has to remain on this treatment for the rest of her life to survive.

In addition to end stage kidney disease Lynne has a myriad of health issues. She’s been battling chronic illness her whole life.

Recently she developed 2 wounds that are infected and has been coping with a long hospital stay. They’ve discovered she has little blood flow to her leg and that is causing these wounds not to heal. She’s being faced with some serious choices about her care and it will be a long road ahead.

Her medical bills have become unmanageable. Her co-payments for specialists and surgeries have been numerous. There are also ancillary costs for gas, parking, bandages, food, re-furbishing her home for dialysis including handicapped accessibility for a wheel chair. Her husband Steve has exhausted paid time off and there are still many appointments, medications and surgeries ahead of her.

As you can imagine, it is very humbling for Lynne to accept any help from others as most of her life she's been assisting others with ways to obtain assistances.

She needs to focus on getting well and she should not have to worry and struggle with these mounting medical costs.

Please help us by donating to Lynne’s go fund me page. Any amount you are able to donate is gratefully excepted and prayers are always welcomed.
Ever so thankful, Kimberlee & Rita, her mom.
