Lynn started out experiencing headaches that never seemed to stop. Then, it turned into her barely being able to move and stay awake. That’s when we knew there was something seriously wrong. On December 19, 2018 she had emergency surgery to remove excess fluid that had been creating so much pressure to her brain and to remove a tumor about the size of a half-dollar coin. She spent over a week recovering in SICU. The surgery was successful and she is recovering well from it, but that is when we discovered she had other tumors in her body; in her left breast and in her chest and gut. The result came back from the biopsy they took of her brain and found that she has stage 4 lung cancer. Stage 4 cancer by definition is cancer that has spread from its original location to other parts of the body.

Moving forward, she will be having radiation for her brain and chemotherapy treatments to help treat the rest of the cancer in her body. 

Lynn will no longer be able to work or drive and has not been working since being in the hospital. She is fighting now to receive social security, but could take up to a year before getting anything out of it. With having a home with a mortgage and utilities along with upcoming medical bills, she cannot financially support herself. 

Her family is doing what they can, physically, emotionally, and financially, but there is only so much they can contribute.
