The Bozentka Family set up the Lynn M. Bozentka Athletic Scholarship Fund to honor our sister Lynn, who passed away September 20th 2002.
Through generous contributions following Lynn's passing, along with your donations, we have been able to give 25 Scholarships to BHS Senior Female Athletes, who demonstrate the following qualities:
- Outstanding BHS Senior Female Athlete who competes in multiple sports.
- Having a positive attitude and a positive approach towards her teammates, coaches and competitors.
- Should be attending college, as the scholarship award is made out to the recipient’s College or University.
Can you help us today by contributing to this Athletic fund? With your help, we plan to give our 26th Scholarship, to a deserving female athlete next Spring 2026.
About Lynn: Lynn was a fierce sports competitor, never giving up or wanting to settle for second best. She had the discipline to focus intensely on her goals, never allowing distractions to get in the way. Lynn had such a positive attitude that sometimes you wondered if anything brought her down.
Excellence was a continuous theme in Lynn’s life. In 1975, she was the Female Athlete of the Year as a senior at Brandywine High School. She continued tearing up the record books in field hockey and tennis at Ohio University, where she received a sports scholarship - and later was one of a small handful of women inducted into Ohio University’s Sports Hall of Fame.
Her energy, fun-loving personality, her undying kindness and infectious positive attitude made her a special and unique individual.
Because of her spirit and drive, her family has established the Lynn M. Bozentka Athletic Memorial Fund to ensure other young female athletes from BHS understand the importance of not only possessing great athletic abilities but also having the right stuff inside them to reach their true potential…on the field and off.
Please help us today to continue with this annual scholarship.
Thank you so much for your support!
