Lynn Hoeffer needs our help!

Hello, friends of Lynn Hoeffer. As many of you are aware, on December 20, 2023, Lynn suffered from the rupture of multiple brain aneurysms while at home. He was fortunate to arrive by ambulance to Maryview Hospital before he stopped breathing on his own. After some diagnostic tests, the brain trauma Lynn had experienced was revealed as a hemorrhagic stroke and he was subsequently transferred to Chesapeake Regional Medical Center where he received top-notch care from the Neurosurgery team.
He spent roughly 36 days in the ICU before being transferred to the step-down unit where he is today at day 43. He has experienced a few setbacks but is making AMAZING progress. From here, Lynn will need to go to an intensive in-patient physical rehabilitation facility for some time. When he does eventually make his way home, he will require extensive outpatient therapy as well. We have every hope and expectation that Lynn will make a remarkable recovery, but it will be a long journey.

For those of you that may not know Lynn very well, he is an accomplished fisherman in the Virginia Bass Federation for Region 8 and for NASA-Langley Bassmasters, a long-time employee of the Newport News Shipbuilding, and an avid cornhole player. Most importantly, he is a much loved father to four adult children, a Papa to six beautiful grandchildren, a brother, a son, a friend and a loving partner. He is kind, giving, and always willing to help someone in need. He is also a little stubborn, which we think will be an asset on the road he has ahead of him.

We are asking that if you are able, please donate to Lynn’s journey. If you cannot, please share the link far and wide and lift him up in prayers and positivity. He will have immense medical costs from his hospital stay, rehabilitation, and aftercare. He will also be out of work for an indeterminate amount of time. We want the very best care for Lynn, as I am sure you all do too. If everything goes well and we surpass our goal, we could perhaps give him a much-needed reprieve by sending him to the Alabama vs. Auburn game in November in Tuscaloosa. (Roll Tide!)

Lynn has surpassed so many milestones in his recovery already and we are so incredibly proud of his will and determination. His loved ones are eternally grateful for all of the prayers and encouraging words of support!

We hope Lynn will be back chasing his grandchildren, back to being the family man that he is, and back in his happy place on the water soon!
