Lynn Firmin's Fight - Brain Cancer Sucks
http://evite.me/r2uhjkemVM
Hello all, my name is Kat and this if for my mom.
My world froze recently with one phone call. The next 11 days would change it forever. My mom has a brain tumor, more specifically a Grade 3 or 4 Glioma or Glioblastoma.
From a mystery seizure on a Friday night to a suspected stroke, getting to that diagnosis was a ten day journey through 911, ER, the crash cart (yes, she nearly died before she could fight), MRIs, CT Scans, EEGs, ICU and ultimately … brain surgery.
Somehow we've been gifted a second chance with that surgery and want to make the most of what's left.
It's not easy to ask for help, but that's exactly what we need right now.
The bills will soon be piling in and we haven't even begun the treatments to come including chemotherapy, radiation, and outpatient therapies (PT, OT, ST). All on top of copays, out of pocket medical expenses, and several new modalities needed around the house.
I've never been comfortable asking for anything from others (and if you know my mom, you know why), but we could really use your support right now. Those that can donate, please know that you're making it possible for our family to enjoy the time we have left together. Those that can send prayers, love and messages of support, please know that you're giving us hope.
I never thought I'd be writing something like this and I hope those reading it never will.
Thank you for all of your support,
Kat
