Lynn Birenbaum’s MS battle

This past August we brought my mom to the hospital with hip pain. Since she has suffered with multiple sclerosis for most of her adult life, this was a big deal. The hip pain turned into bursitis and arthritis, but with physiotherapy and perseverance we originally had hopes that she could come home and resume living independently. Unfortunately her hospital stay did not go as planned and 5 infections later she is paralyzed and only able to eat through an IV into her stomach. The hospital will be releasing her in a few days since she is “medically stable” but she will require around-the-clock care and equipment we cannot afford. The wait list for a nursing home is years long. We are reaching out to our family, friends, and community - we are so grateful for any help or support you can provide.
