Lynn apartment fire leaves mother and son homeless

Lynn single mom Sonni DiCesare and her son Romeo (15) lost everything on Monday, March 4, 2024, in a blaze that destroyed their home of more than ten years on Lynnfield Street. A day that started ordinarily turned nightmarish while Romeo was at school and Sonni was at work. They staggered home in shock to find loss and destruction of the foundation of their daily lives.

PLEASE CAN YOU HELP SONNI AND ROMEO GET BACK ON THEIR FEET?

There are so many needs. Their place to live and literally every possession was lost in the accidental fire. They need to find housing (2BR) in Lynn on a bus line so that Romeo can continue his freshman year and beyond as a student and athlete at Lynn English High School.

This family is relying heavily on the kindness of school families to temporarily house Romeo near school to avoid interruption.

They need to replace clothing, furniture, appliances, dishes, etc. – everything needed to function as a family unit again. Money for rent, deposits and to replace their lost necessities. Cherished reminders of memories are lost, but not the memories themselves or the knowledge of how much they have to rebuild and live for.

Further, before the tragedy of the fire, Sonni was already trying to earn extra money to repair the family car (needing $2000 of clutch and front-end work) so that Sonni can flexibly both get to work her job as an Experience Manager at Ulta Beauty in Peabody at the Northshore Mall. and be available for Romeo after school. For now Sonni is commuting to work by bus. Despite her income, she is still falling short of the ability to provide all these things on top of daily necessities.

Any amount you can contribute to help them is welcome. We have set a Go-Fund-Me goal of $15,000. Every penny will be spent on restoring the material foundation of their otherwise rich and connected lives. Please help.
