My Cancer Treatments Stole My Smile

Donation protected
For those of who don't know me directly but know of me from friends or family my name is Lynette Wright. I'm 53 years young and this the story about how cancer stole my smile. My story starts very shortly before my diagnosis. If u know me and know me well I guess you could say I'm a little stubborn (he he). After I thoughtfully waited for the holidays to pass in 2004 and the New Years 2005 . I idotically chose to take myself to the ER ( friends were begging to take me do to a fast growing lump in my neck) on January 12 2005. Damn! My little sisters birthday! Accident... This was the day my life changed forever. I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma on this day. I think the worst thing for me wasn't how this diagnosis was going to effect me but how it was going effect my family . The video I have posted reveals my chemotherapy treatments I had to endure, how they destroyed my teeth and the urgency to get my smile fixed. At the time this video was made there was some urgency from my family and Dr at the time, to do high dose chemo w stem cell transplant. That particular treatment didn't work out and was terrifying. More and more years have gone by and I am finally cancer free as of 6 months ago this yr, 2022. My cancer as of now 2024 is back again. The plan is to continue w my immunotherapy once a month untill it stops working. We have found shorty after the immunotherapy is stopped that my cancer comes back with in 2 to 4 months. The struggle is real. I've been living with so little for so long that I also haven't been able to fix repairs in my trailer either. Really there isn't anything I want more in life than to be able to eat again, smile, again, and maybe date again!! I feel I can't close this chapter in my life and start the next untill I can learn to smile again. So please watch my short video (which is a little old and had treatment plan changes do to my original oncology team changing) so you can see what your donations could do for me!!! The most important treatment for me... GETTING MY SMILE BACK!!! ( After many years of researching my best option for long term wear and maintenance is lower and upper All on 4 or more fixed bridge or over denture. With so many years ahead of me traditional dentures cause major bone loss and getting the perfect fit could take a while and cause mouth sores I can't risk getting.) Also because my mouth is so small previous attempts at regular denture wearing have failed. I want so bad to start this new chapter and to hopefully meet someone to spend my life with me. I chose not to get involved in dating anyone new because I didn't think it was the right time while I had cancer. Now that I have no teeth I'm very reluctant to even talk to anyone I don't know. I feel like who would want to date " toothless Tammy "? Please help me reach my goal so I can finally eat the foods I love and begin the rest of my life!
