Lynette Jones & Family Support
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Brooke and I am fundraising for Lynette Jones and her family. They are an incredibly selfless family that will not ask for help. They are ALWAYS trying to help others, but this time... they. need. our. help! Here is there story:
Lynette Jones, a 46-year-old woman, had Polymyositis, a very uncommon inflammatory disease that causes muscle weakness all over the body and tends to gradually worsen. The disease also affects the chest muscles and causes breathing problems, such as shortness of breath (Lynette needs for 24-hour oxygen) & causes cardiovascular issues causing the walls of the heart to become inflamed (myocarditis).
Lynette had been struggling with this disease for the past 17 years, but in the past few months, there has been a rapid decline. She has lost the ability to walk, and stand on her legs and now is placed in a wheelchair. Lynette and her husband have 4 children together (21, 18, 11, and 7). You can imagine how difficult and scary this has been for her children to watch their mother continue to suffer each day.
Lynette reported to a rheumatologist appointment on Tuesday, January 11th and was admitted immediately to Shand's Hospital in Gainesville. After several teams of doctors and medicines, it is determined that Lynette will bein the hospital for an undetermined amount of time and then transferred to an inpatient hospital to continue care until she is well enough to be released.
Her family needs financial assistance. She is no longer able to teach and contribute to the family finances. Her husband works full time (He is a family pastor at the UMC in Melbourne) while trying to take care of the younger children, house duties, and Lynette. There will be expensive medical costs including hospital bills for extended care, bed transportation from Gainesville to Melbourne, inpatient care cost, hospital and outpatient therapy.
- I hope you consider helping this beautiful family. They need us. We do not need people to do a lot, but if we all do just a little... it will make a huge difference!
