Hi everybody from Lyndsay Dunning & Brittney Caggige! We have been given an awesome opportunity to attend WorshipU at Bethel in Redding, California this summer! WorshipU is a two-week intensive course for worship leaders and team members from all over the world to hone their crafts. We will be learning from some of the most powerful & authoritative voices in modern worship in how to cultivate a lifestyle of worship. Some of these voices include: Brian & Jenn Johnson, Hillsong United, Steffany Gretzinger, Amanda Cook, Jeremy Riddle, and Pat Barrett...to name a few!

The classes will be July 10-21, so we are trying to raise funds for the trip. We decided to do a joint-GoFundMe page, so the campaign goal reflects the cost for two people. The $3,000 will be split between tuition, airfare, and housing for two weeks. In order to get the best prices on airfare and housing, we would love to reach our goal by June 1st.

Thank you so much for investing in the calling God has placed on our lives! If you can, please take a few minutes and read our stories :)

Brittney's Story:
Worship has never been just singing for me. It is not matching all the right notes of a song to make it sound better to the ear. Worship is who I am, and it’s what He’s made me out of. It is experiencing an encounter with God. And when you submit yourself to Him, it’s almost like you’re commanding yourself to remember Who’s in charge. Whether you feel it with your senses or not, when you commune with Him, it does something to you. Worship changes everything.

I was born into worship, as both of my parents are natural musicians. I grew up in a church where my dad was the drummer, and my mom was one of the backup vocalists. They both have taught me what it means to worship—not only at church or in my quiet time, but in my life as a whole.

At an appropriate age, I joined our small worship team at Wellspring of Life Christian Center. I would stand next to my mom and sing harmonies, and I would begin to hear where I needed to go with my voice. Then I joined a music and technical program in the 11th grade that taught me about jazz music and performance. I considered my teacher, Billy Comstock, part of my family. He really encouraged me, gave me such confidence, and technically improved my voice during that time. After high school, I went to MorningStar University where I planned on studying to become a worship leader; however, God had a different plan. Instead, He taught me how to use my voice and to be bold and find myself in Him—even through a hard season of anxiety.

I definitely haven’t arrived yet, but all the battles have brought me closer and closer to Jesus. Nothing can separate me from His love, and this is why I worship. This is why I want to go Bethel. Not because Bethel is the solution, but because they welcome all things of the Holy Spirit. They teach on the things I know and have experienced: the goodness of God and His love for me. God has brought me through so much, and I’m still continuing this journey of trusting Him and learning to abide in Him.

Lyndsay's Story: I once heard worship leader Jonathan David Helser say, “Worship is giving God His breath back.” That quote continually resounds in my heart. One of my life verses is Romans 12:1, which reads, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” If God has graced me with His life abundant, how can I do anything but point the world back to my glorious Creator? And that doesn’t just mean through song, but through a life set apart unto Him.

Nearly ten years ago, I picked up a guitar and learned to play with zero intentions of ever playing in front of a crowd. I was even less inclined to sing because I honestly didn’t think I could! But sometimes I think God enjoys taking the places where we are weak and displaying His grace and strength.

A few years later, I was given an opportunity to lead worship at my church. I had no idea what I was doing at the time, but my church body was so gracious. I learned a lot about worship, about God, and about myself during that time. I remember shutting myself in my dad’s office for hours and just getting lost in worshiping the Lord. Sundays became an overflow of those intimate times with Jesus. After a while, people from my church would pray for me and say that God was going to do something with my music. I usually smiled and secretly thought they were crazy. But it kept happening. People I didn’t even know would say similar things. I remember telling God one time that if He wanted me to do something with my music that He would have to open doors to make it obvious. Oh, me of little faith! Sure enough, opportunities to play at different venues popped up in Savannah, in Florida, and in South Carolina—opportunities I never would have dreamed of!

I have grown and been stretched quite a bit over the years, and it hasn’t always been easy. However, I count it a treasure and privilege to use this gift to help create an environment where God’s people can boldly praise Him and give Him glory in unity! I'd also love to bless peoplethrough music outside of a church setting, and point them to Jesus. I’ve seen how a spirit of worship can literally change the atmosphere and bring healing in so many ways. I love the Holy Spirit. And I’m looking forward to learning from some seasoned worshipers at WorshipU this summer!

Thank you again for your investment! We'll also be posting on Facebook a worship event and yard sale coming soon! So be on the look out ;) God bless!
