Financial Support for Lyndel & Son
Donation protected
Over the course of the last 16 years, many of us have had the privilege of working with and getting to know Lyndel Wagnon. As a Field Customer Care Representative, he has also been able to touch many of our homeowners and help make their experience of owning one of our homes that much better. Lyndel is sharp witted and puts a smile on everyone’s face when they have the pleasure of talking with him. A few months ago Lyndel and his family had a life changing event happen. On October 2, 2015, Lyndel’s son Brett suffered a ruptured aorta and had to have emergency surgery. During the surgery, he suffered anoxic brain injury (meaning total lack of oxygen) and something happened to his spine, leaving Brett in a wheelchair and unable to feel anything from the waist down. He spent 16 days in ICU, a total of 52 days in the hospital, and about 30 days in a rehab center. During Brett’s 81 days in the hospital and rehab, he had 2 surgeries, numerous procedures, and required 6 units of blood. Lyndel was finally able to bring his son home on December 21, 2015. During this very emotional and stressful rollercoaster ride Lyndel managed to come to work every day, while spending his free time by his son’s side. Brett did not have insurance, which has led to a huge amount of medical expenses. Lyndel has taken on the financial responsibilities of the medical expenses and his son’s house payment. When talking to Lyndel about this he says “I can’t explain it but it is life changing. You have to rearrange your life, the way you go about things.” When he says it is life changing he means it. His son now requires 24 hour care. Between Lyndel and his wife, they have to work extremely hard to provide for their son. Brett now has outpatient physical therapy twice a week. Requiring Lyndel to load his son and his chair up and get him there, which is not easy to do. I can only imagine the heartbreak, emotions and stress that Lyndel and his family have gone through and are going through as they continue to adjust to the new life style and financial burdens. When I told Lyndel that, we in the Customer Care Department wanted to do something to help him with the added financial stress he is facing, he just said, “I can’t believe someone would want to help me. Thank you so much.” Please donate to help Lyndel pay current medical bills and continued medical care expenses his son needs. Lyndel is a humble man, who doesn’t complain, and is always pleasant despite what he has going on. Any amount will help, please help us support and lift up Lyndel and his family in their time of need. Lyndel will use the donations for medical expenses and changes to accommodate the need of the wheelchair. The Wagnon family is truly greatful for any donations and very appreciative.
