Lynda Kinney

I am starting this account for my sister and family. Lynda Kinney had some health problems and one week ago she was seen laying face down in a parking lot across from her house. The police were not called until the next morning. She was alive, but unresponsive. Many tests were done and it has been determined that due to lack of oxygen for so long she has suffered irreversible brain damage. The family has been driving to the hospital, 90 miles round trip all week to visit her. On Thursday June 9th we decided, as a family, to remove her from life support. She stabilized and started breathing on her own, so we had her transported back home. A hospice bed has been set up in her living room and the family has been keeping her comfortable. We have been told that she can live this way for weeks and up to a month.

Meanwhile, her husband of 23 years lost his job shortly before this occurred. Bills are piling up and not sure how insurance will play out as well as a cremation service after she passes.

On top of this, family have been taking time off work and I just found out that my brother is in danger of getting fired. The Family Medical Leave act does not include siblings as family, and they will not let him use sick time or vacation time. So needless to say the stress has been enormous on the whole family as we take care of our little sister Lynda Kinney.
