Lynda O’Quinn is a proud mom to Drew and Lyndsay, She’s a devoted daughter,
loving sister, best friend to many and
an incredible nurse for 35 years.

She is fighting the fight of her life against
cancer and I’m asking for support
to help with the financial burden that is ahead of her.

Lynda will be off work for the next year approximately, and if everything goes well
we’re hoping to ease some financial stress
with monthly bills and increased costs of
travel and additional expenses while Lynda is
off work and on disability. 

Lynda graduated  nursing in 1985 and moved
to Alberta in 1990. She  worked at St Mary’s
for 19 years  and then moved to Fort Mac in
2009 working in Emergency and also
becoming an Ortho tech 2013.

On July 7th a tumour was found in the lower
lobe of Lyndas right lung. After numerous
tests,  it was diagnosed as a rare form of
cancer requiring surgery. 

Surgery is scheduled for  this Tuesday,
September  15th at Mazankowski for a
lobectomy of partial or full removal  of her
right lung and cardiac surgery for removal of
tumour pressing against/ growing in her heart.
There will be Chemotherapy post recovery
from the surgery. 

Lynda is an incredible nurse and teacher and
has left a huge impression on so many people
throughout the years. She is always  there for
anyone and her smile, Cape Breton sense of
humour  and laughter is contagious.  

Lynda is a single household income and she 
depends on working her overtime shifts as
a nurse. We are not sure what the future holds but if we can help her in anyway, it  would be
so very much appreciated as she is one of the
strongest people I know, and we love her so
much!!
