Lynda Masi's Healing Journey & New Normal

Donation protected
This is Lynda Masi — a sister, mother, grandmother, and a dear friend to so many. At 75 years old, Lynda was still living life to the fullest. She worked as a hairdresser, refusing to retire because of her love for her clients and her strong sense of independence. She went dancing with friends, enjoyed local trivia nights, attended church every Sunday, mowed her lawn, and visited her family. Lynda has always been a force of strength, vitality, and love — and she continues to inspire everyone who knows her.

Lynda was unexpectedly forced to leave the home she had planned to live in forever. While still working full-time, she began the difficult process of packing up her things. Tragically, during the move, she fell down a flight of stairs and broke her neck, nearly severing her spinal cord at the 6th vertebra. The injury was so severe that surgeons had to reattach her head to her body using two titanium rods and 12 pins.

Lynda's injury was so severe that she was rushed to a trauma center for emergency surgery. When she woke up, she found herself surrounded by those who love her most—her best friend who had rescued her, her daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. It was then that we were given the devastating news: Lynda was struggling to survive and had been left paralyzed from the chest down.

We were all in shock.

Lynda is currently living with family, working every day to recover and heal to the best of her ability. As her family, we are doing everything we can to help her with daily tasks that she can no longer manage on her own. However, due to her paralysis, getting around has become increasingly difficult, and she now needs a specially equipped van to regain her independence and mobility.

Right now, every time she needs to be transported, we have to rent a BraunAbility van for the day — which is incredibly expensive. This is just one of the many challenges we face as we try to support her on this difficult journey.

We’ve set up this fundraiser to raise money for a BraunAbility van, which will make an incredible difference in Lynda’s daily life. Every donation, no matter the size, helps — and if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this post means the world to us. Whether it's $5 or $1,000, we are so grateful for your support, prayers, and generosity.

We can’t express enough how thankful we are for all the love and support Lynda and our family have received. Let’s help her get back on the road to freedom! ✨

God bless.
