Let me introduce you to the Watts family: Jarrod, Jessica, Beau, and Charlie. This is a precious family. This family has had many challenges since March of 2020. In 2016 Eight-year-old Beau was taken to Memphis due to debilitating migraines. These migraines were monitored for quite sometime. On March 09, 2020, the doctor’s exams and tests showed an exceptionally large arachnoid cyst on the left temporal lobe of Beau brain. He had major brain surgery to remove this and insert plates and screws. Beau is still having much difficulty and will have his second surgery on January 29, 2021 to remove hardware. His skull has not fully healed so they cannot remove everything. Beau’s migraines are some better, but he is still having them along with pain from where the hardware was placed.

Meanwhile as the family was recovery from Beau’s surgery, doctors discovered 11-year Charlie had Ewing’s Sarcoma Cancer in his left shoulder. He has had 5 chemo treatments and approximately 12 more treatments left. The next scan on January 19, 2021 will decide if they will do surgery/radiation treatments. Charlie goes back weekly for blood work, test and more. He suffers from mouth sores from the chemo. These sores are very painful which causes him to not want to eat and drink which is extremely dangerous for someone in his condition, not to mention the concerns about COVID and other infections.

For months now Jessica and Jarrod have traveled back and forth to Memphis for treatments and multiple doctor’s appointments with both boys.  While they do have insurance the cost of going back and forth, the medical deductibles and percentage portion of insurance are quite extensive. Jarrod is a retail manager and Jessica is an independent contractor for online education. She has lost 75% of her students/income to focus on taking care of her children’s medical needs.

This family did not ask for help, I went to them. This family has enough on their plate without having to worry about deductibles and other expenses. If you feel led to help this family, it would be greatly appreciated.  No amount is too small and will be used wisely.
