Hello I’m Tony Stevens, 41years old I have a family with my partner of 10 years we have 7 children, 2 of our own 5 from each of our past relationships. I was working for speedy hire but due to unable to return to normal duties I was dismissed  I was misdiagnosed for many months with a rare std which put a strain on relationships which me and my partner had separated . I had a dissection biopsy April 2019 and fell in to  infection with sepsis and cellulitis .With many stays in hospital for many weeks. I was at the hospital waiting for test to come back which everyday i was worried about being sent home but finally after months I was diagnosed on the 8 may 2019 with nodular lymphocyte predominant Hodgkin’s lymphoma a rare blood cancer. Was told one in a million Hodgkin cases I have the one cancer which is not common. I will never forget being called from my hospital bed into a back Room where consultant and two Mcmillan nurses were sat there and it was so weird I felt happy that they knew but buy the time I was sent backed to my bed feeling confused and alone to try to contact family members to try to tell them after I had a terminal illness . I was mixed up with emotions of being scared of the unknown as I thought I lost everything .I was told the lymphedema was caused by infection cellulitis lymphedema also Which caused many hospital stays to control infections . I had radiotherapy ended2/09/2019  .I have been told that My lymphedema is a permanent disability which with the lymphedema pump I can live a sort of normal life . I’m gonna have the condition for the rest of my life but now be controlled Ive been on a medication permanently on antibiotics morphine   I have now purchased a cheaper pump and the garments which I can take with me were every I travel will need a bed to set it up I now have compression stockings Ive moved so much fluid just got to get it away from ankles and behind both knees I need to use the pump 3 times a day or it gets too much and constant pain and infections it’s been a battle with cancer and now a incurable lymphedema my mental health hasn’t been good but got to stay positive I have The support ,from prospect hospice the  day therapy is amazing, making friends, but due to the lockdown I had maybe a phone call every two weeks which is understandable in this current way of life has been a bit crazy . I just want to be a good person  I have let life get to me and get me down but the stress isn’t worth it I’m trying to look more positive and I know I can control theses illness and make many memories and to stay in remission for a long time thank you all for the support you all already have changed my life and I do appreciate it much love stay safe .
