Hi! My name is Adam Palm. Today May 4, 2016 I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. The doctor thinks that I have had it for two years but Lyme can stay dormant for a long time before you experience any symptoms. Lyme usually starts giving you problems after a very stressful time. This was the case with me.
I did a sleep study in late Febuarary and early March. I was sleep deprived 3 times for 48 hours during the 18 days I was in the laboratory. Two days after my release I got chicken pox. After that I went to Seattle to be with my girlfriend, who has cancer. She was having surgery to remove 4 tumors from her face. It was a stressful week. Soon after that I began having unexplained muscle soreness in my forearms, back, neck, legs, and ankles. Then I had insomnia. This all filled me with a lot of fear and anxiety. Thankfully I have a relationship with Jesus Christ and the knowledge that He loves and cares for me as displayed through his death on a cross and subsequent resurrection has been a great comfort to me.
I am finishing up my Bachelors of Art in Biblical Studies at Moody Bible Institute- Spokane. I hope to become a chaplain in the military, don't know what branch yet. I have a lot of expenses with finishing school and have spent all my money on paying for school that I don't have money to pay for my treatment. The treatment takes about a week to do at the doctor's office and then three months of detoxing with dieting and supplements that the doctor gives to me. It is enormous amount of pills to take. I know because all three of my sisters have had Lyme and have been treated by the same doctor. They are all doing well. I am slated to be treated in September but hoping that it will be sooner. Sometimes people that live further away cancel and local people, the doctor is in Couer D'Alene, ID, which is an hour from Spokane, WA, are able to take their slots.
If anyone would consider helping me to raise the 2500 dollars I need that would be a tremendous blessing. I am hoping to work this summer in Oregon with my girlfriends Aunt and Uncle as a white water rafting guide but I don't know if I will be able to with Lyme. I would spend all the money on my Lyme treatment and nothing else.
