LYLE BULLDOZES CANCER!

Donation protected

Hi there we are Lyle LaFleur’s Uncles and Aunts! On May 23rd things changed in our family in a big way. We were shattered to learn that our beloved Lyle had been diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. Just weeks before Jessica and David LaFleur were having a blast; with Lyle living his best life on vacation in Florida. Then a fever that wouldn't subside led to everyone thinking he had a simple virus. When things didn't change Lyle was brought to Children's at St. Vincent's in Green Bay and their worst fears were confirmed. Lyle has cancer.

It takes a minute to process that and to be honest it's really is not possible! With little time to absorb or even catch their breath Lyle's life was uprooted along with Jessica and David's as he began his fight against this awful disease. Everything was thrown at this little three year old warrior at once. Chemo (lots of chemo!), harsh steriods, spinal punctures, bone marrow biopsies. When people say you get chemo because you have cancer it's hard to comprehend just how MANY chemos that means.

The first month showed many changes not only physically but emotionally in Lyle. The vibrant little boy that so many had come to know and love was masked by the myriad of medications that now work both for and against him to kill this cancer. The little legs that never stopped running, can no longer stand on their own. The first month involved heavy steriods that caused Lyle to swell, but we still got so many wonderful smiles, and even a giggle or two. Jessica always asks "Is Lyle happy or sad" and he always lets you know exactly how was feeling. After a month of hard work for both child and parents a bone marrow test didn't give us the good news we were hoping for as Lyle was labeled Average to High Risk which meant a much more aggressive treatment plan. Lyle however hasn't missed a beat, and all of his caregivers have fallen in love with his contagious laugh and love for life. He is a true fighter.

Just recently he had a nearly two week stay, (which involved spending his 4th Birthday in the hospital). As many of you are aware the treatment can be as bad as the cure, and Lyle's numbers tanked and he acquired an infection. Currently we are in the two week stretch of four days of chemo (that means driving back and forth to Green Bay each day) and then three days off. WE KNOW HE HAS THIS THOUGH! THIS KID IS A FIGHTER! With parents like Jessica and David you can be assured his every need is being lovingly met.

I might be prejudiced but this kid is special. Lyle was born in the COVID era, where kids didn't get to be kids and so many of you connected with him through facebook, photos and videos. He is the happiest little boy, and to say David and Jessica are smitten doesn't even begin to cover it.

The next two and half years of treatment will be tough, sleepless nights, autopilot trips again and again to green bay. Isolation, both for Lyle and Jessica and David, so that infections aren't brought home, the list goes on and on. So many of you have wanted a way to show your love and support for Lyle, Jessica and David and so we started this gofundme to offer some relief from the financial burdens that cancer brings with it.

Lyle loves everything TRUCKS! So we figure he's gonna bulldoze cancer's butt! We want to know that to all your that contribute we feel you, for all of you that are praying, we feel you, and for all of you that our loving on Lyle from a distance, it sustains him.
